Internship at La Boite Theatre Co.

Over a three-month period during 2023, I completed an Internship at La Boite Theatre Co. located in Kelvin Grove Brisbane. La Boite Theatre has been operating for 98 years, turning 100 in 2025. It is home to the country's only Roundhouse Theatre, holding a 400-seat capacity.

During my time at La Boite, I was primarily assigned to the Sponsorship and Marketing teams. Being a part of these teams allowed me to expand my skillset incredibly. I was able to learn new and valuable skills such as professional communication, web design, invitation design, data document completion, social media marketing, as well as set and prop design. Before starting at La Boite I had minimal and basic knowledge regarding a lot of these tasks and skills, but I was able to broaden my understanding by constantly learning and asking questions when needed.

As well as helping the Theatre in their behind-the-scenes sectors, I was also able to help during the opening night event for the first show of the season, The Poison of Polygamy. During this event, I was stationed at the box office checking the tickets of each member that had been invited to a VIP drinks and nibbles event prior to the show starting. This allowed me to show my professional customer service and communication skills that I had already acquired at previous jobs and events.
